Recording and Uploading Video Evidence

At the bottom of most of the lesson pages there is a form where you can upload the video recording of your responses to the questions asked. These will be very short clips in most cases and you can have as many goes as you want before pressing the “Submit” button.

iPhone or iPad

If you’re using an iPhone or iPad to access the course then pressing the “Select Files” button will bring up some choices …

… choosing the second option, “Take Video” will automatically use your phone’s camera to record your answer. If you’re not happy with what you have done then you can simply retake the video. Once you have a take that you are pleased with then you must remember to press the “Submit” button after uploading the clip.

Desktop Computer or Android Device

Then, when you are at the point where you wish to upload your responses to the appropriate lesson you click on the “Select Files” button as before. However on your desktop machine or Android device, and depending on which browser you use, you most likely won’t have a series of options. But that’s not a problem as you can simply upload the video that you have recorded earlier.

Android Phones and Tablets require you to prerecord your answers before submitting them. The Camera App can be used to record your video …

… and the video is uploaded to “Gallery” so you can select this option when you come to add your video.

On an Apple computer, the easiest way to record a video is to use the built in FaceTime camera and the QuickTime Player software that comes with the system.

With QuickTime Player running, choose “File” and then “New Movie Recording” from the menu bar. This will record from the internal camera or webcam and save a video file (most likely in mov format).

Remember to make a note of where you save the recording! When you click on “Select Files” you will see a File Explorer window pop up.

On a Windows computer you will also need to record your response then upload your pre-recorded videos.

Windows uses the “Camera App” to record a video. The quickest way to begin using this app would be to type ‘camera’ into the Cortana search bar at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen and hit enter.

And don’t forget to press the “Submit” button once you’ve chosen your video!
